20 Best Personal Development Apps for a Life-Changing 2022

Tell me if this sequence of statements sounds familiar when it comes to personal growth around this time of year:

"Ah, the joyous holiday season," says December. Isn't this the last hurrah before the diet begins?"

"A new year, a new me!" says January. "Watch out, 2022.... I'm coming!"

January: "Man, life is tough!"

"Wait!" says February. "Where did February go?" I wondered.

"There has to be a way out!" March exclaims. "It shouldn't be this hard!"

If this sounds like something you're going through right now, don't feel bad. Only 9% of people stick to their New Year's resolutions.

What is the problem, and how can we fix it?

Life is ecstatic in fact. We place a high value on prioritization. We have stipulations. The food is delicious. Working out takes commitment.

What can you do to help?

"Out of sight, out of mind" is a phrase you've probably heard before. As a result, do the exact opposite. That is, make your resolutions public first and foremost. Keep your friends informed about your goals, and keep your family updated on your progress, for example. These are excellent first steps toward staying motivated for the New Year and achieving the "new you" you crave.

Second, instead of only thinking about resolutions when you're feeling vulnerable, do everything you can to keep them in the forefront of your mind throughout the day.

When you're hungry, it's difficult to say no to pizza, and it's difficult to get up in the morning for the gym when you're tired. Instead, if you use an app to track your calories throughout the day, you're mentally preparing yourself to know that you only have 500 calories left for dinner, effectively ruling out pizza before it's even been considered. Similarly, if you keep track of your sleep habits and believe in daily progress, you'll be more likely to go to bed at 10 p.m. rather than Netflix-bingeing until the wee hours of the morning.

What I'm really saying is that you don't have to be a member of the 1%! First, set a goal, then tell others about it, and finally, find a helpful app to help you stay on track. The first two steps are simple, and I'm here to assist you with the third.

You'll be well on your way to eating healthier, reading more, exercising regularly, and/or discovering a new passion, goal, or even career, thanks to a plethora of worthwhile mobile apps begging to be downloaded. Allow technology to make your life easier in 2022.
