It is natural for us all to want to do well in our fields and to be appreciated. A true leader values his employees' current strengths, identifies their hidden talents, and prepares them for future challenges to perform even better. This can make some people uncomfortable because they believe we are already doing well. However, leadership is not about making anyone happy or unhappy; rather, it is an art that teaches people to face challenges, challenges that people want to avoid.
